Power and Coriolanus

In the play Coriolanus we find that characters in the play have more power than others and we specifically see that with characters like; Coriolanus, Volumnia, Aufidius who are shown to have the most power in the play by their actions we also see characters like; Menenius, Tribunes who we see with lesser power and that has an affect on the play.
We can see as the play progresses that the more power Coriolanus, Volumnia, or Aufidius gain more power the more risky defections they make, hence and example on that would be the banishing of Coriolanus after being declared a war hero he has found himself to be better then the public which led to him being banished from Rome. I also believe that the more power the character gains the more blinded they get therefore they tend to fault and can lead to their death a clear example on that is Coriolanus as he sides with Aufidius and then is killed by him. However, characters such as; Menenius are not in danger of dying or risking his life as he is cautious of what he is doing and knows that he has a limit due to his position or ranking and he cannot exceed it like Coriolanus this is the difference shown between characters with more power then others.
I believe the message that Shakespeare was trying to portray/communicate about the nature of power especially during that time was that the more power someone has the more blinded they get and the greedier they become into wanting more and more of it. As well as showing the difference in fate between characters with and without power.
